Students often mention the same positive effects they receive from taking belly dance classes. First of all, when the movements are done with the correct posture, it can be a real relief from lower back pain. Because you are using your lower abs at all times to keep your pelvis tucked under, and your chest lifted, all weight that normally compresses your lower back will be carried by different muscle groups and will relief pain out of your lower back.

If movements are done correctly, you will change your body shape. A lot of students that are overweight lose weight by doing the exercises because they are low impact exercises that will work on fatburning rather than cardio.
