NEW TO BELLY DANCE?
Did you get inspired by watching a belly dance performance during the weekend? Do you want to try something new? Hilde started a new class which is for absolute beginners. Click here or scroll down for more info!!

LEVEL ARE YOU AT?

WHAT DO I WEAR IN CLASS?
Don't worry, you don't need to show your belly if you don't feel comfortable with that. Instead, wear a fitting top (not a baggy Tshirt!) as it will show your movements and this way you can see best if you are doing a movement correctly. Wearing trousers is better than a skirt (but no jeans) as it will again show off the movements better so wrong movements can be corrected easily. If you want to accentuate your hips, you can wear a coinbelt or a hip scarf. Belly dance is danced barefoot. Coinbelts and hip scarves can be purchased via Hilde.

COURSE FEE AND POLICY:
COURSE
FEE:
The fee for the Egyptian fusion
and the Tribal fusion and Tribal belly dance course (except the class on Wednesdays,
as this runs through Evolution Arts) is £35 for 5 weeks. If you follow
2 classes per week, you can get a £5 discount so you pay £65 instead
of £70. For the fee of £95 you can take as many classes as you
want during this 5 week course, this does not include the Wednesday tribal
belly dance and the Tuesday belly dance basics classes though, as these courses
run for a longer period of time and places are limited.
Please note that drop in classes are not available anymore. Instead, you have
the option that if you miss out on a class, because you are going to be away
one week, that you catch up on a different day and take 2 classes the week
before or after you missed class.
The Belly Dance Basics course can only be booked for a full course of 8 weeks. Classes are 1h15' and the course fee is £50.
ALL CLASSES NEED TO BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE!! Please contact Hilde for bookings.

you commit to a course you have the chance to pay for one drop in class. If
you miss one class during the course you can catch it up another class in
Brighton or in Portslade the next week, after speaking to Hilde. This only
counts for people that take the evening classes with Hilde that are running
on a Monday and Thursday evening.
COURSE INFORMATION: WHAT, WHERE, WHEN?
BELLY
DANCE BASICS:
THE
BASICS ARE THE BASICS! NEW!! Even though Hilde teaches three different styles
of Belly Dance: tribal, tribal fusion and Egyptian fusion belly dance, they
all start from the same basic techniques. Often, it is just certain arm and
hand gestures that distinct the different styles from each other.
In each 8 week course you will learn all the basic isolations you need for further development of a particular style. It will give you a basic knowledge of Middle Easter rhythms, different styles of belly dance that you can further develop afterwards and a breakdown of all movements and muscular contractions.
If you have taken belly dance classes before, it is still recommended to take this class, as all teachers teach differently and it will give you a fresh start. Hilde's class will focus on muscular contractions to improve your technique, which might not have been explained to you in the past, but if you have any doubt on which class would be best for you, you can always contact Hilde for more information.
Places for this class are limited, but the improvers classes run on a Monday and a Thursday are also suitable for absolute beginners. If the belly dance basics class is full, you can just drop in for the improvers classes and take the basics class at a later stage as well, so you get a proper breakdown of all movements used in the improvers class.
