Instructors
Meet the supportive team with whom you'll be learning :)
Head instructor: Hilde Cannoodt
With over 10 years of teaching experience and a BA degree in both dance and in teaching,
Hilde's understanding of the moving body shows in any class she teaches.
Her analytical approach helps students from any background to reconnect with their body and find a movement language through dance.
As a teacher, Hilde's focus is on safe practice, good posture, strengthening of the core, a strong dance foundation
and mastering of body isolations working towards layering techniques, space and body awareness,
improvisation, choreography and dramatic expression in your dance.
Her biggest love for teaching is the progress her students go through in gaining confidence and improving their dance technique.
Charlotte Wassell
Teaching since January 2009, Charlotte is relishing the opportunity to instil in others her passion for bellydance – whether in students attending weekly classes for exercise or in those taking a few of Hilde’s courses.
Discovering bellydance has changed her life – she is fitter, healthier and never had a better self-body-image! It is never too late to start...
Charlotte is intent on continually educating herself in this dance.
She has been lucky enough to attend intensive courses with Samantha Emmanuel and Mira Betz and has completed the Fat Chance Belly Dance General Skills and Teacher Training certification programmes.
Charlotte is really excited to be a part of the bellydance community in Brighton and is passionate in helping it to continue to grow!
